Pescara is a city of 122.000 inhabitants on the Adriatic coast. Characterized by a touristic vocation, it is a typical beach resort and an important industrial and commercial center. Due to its central position, Pescara is easy to reach both from the north and south of Italy.




A part of the city was built upon the ancient city of Aternum. In 1990, following a number of excavations, remains of the Roman and medieval city came to light, stratified on various levels. The famous poet Gabriele D`Annunzio was born in Pescara.
One can still see the typical wooden houses which were the old fishermen houses. The city is today modern and dynami, with its excellent shops, cafés and ice-cream parlours, and has become significant because of its reputation as a major business place.
